Visual novel developed by 4noki “Who is the red queen?” Coming to Steam in the Enhanced Edition

During Élan Festival 2022, Studio Élan announced that it will publish Who is the Red Queen? on Steam under the Bellhouse imprint. The visual novel developed by 4noki was originally released on itch.io in October 2021. The new version will include additional content to further develop the tale, which is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.

Who is the Red Queen? tells the story of a young woman called Alice, who falls down the rabbit hole. In Wonderland, she will now have to find the missing Red Queen, who has been dismembered and whose body parts have been scattered across the land. The story features messed up circumstances, with triggering warnings such as “death, blood, dismemberment, cruelty to animals, execution, imprisonment and suicide from above”.

Depending on the player’s choice, they will be able to reach three major endings or many other dead ends. Keep in mind that the title was originally developed for Spooktober Visual Novel Jam, so it was meant to be a basic title with just six CGs and simple animation.

Who is the Red Queen? is written and directed by Shino (Draw No More, From This Time She Neglected the World), with sprite art by YuukiPudding (Half Moon) and CG by Pumpkin-Spike (closing chapter) and Papaya ( without sound – A MODERN SALEM IN REMOTE AREA -). While some of the music is taken from PeriTune, there are also compositions by Lyraden (Hearts Astride).

According to the Steam page, the Extended Edition of Who is the Red Queen? should be available in 2022. Check out the trailer:
