New Idea Launches New Author Initiative at Alpharetta Public Library

A Novel Idea, in conjunction with The Atlanta Writers Club and Bookmiser, will begin hosting monthly authors in conversation at the Alpharetta Public Library in its 150-seat auditorium at 10 Park Plaza, Alpharetta. Scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month, the events will feature authors discussing their popular and most recent books.

ANI is not new to showcasing the talent of authors. Jeremy Logan, head of the volunteer group, said: “The beauty of what we do is to provide a forum where authors can shine and have the opportunity to hone their presentation skills. We did it in Dunwoody at Vintage Pizzeria where new and emerging authors welcome us every month in an informal nightclub-like atmosphere; however, the Alpharetta Library location gives us the opportunity to spread our wings a bit and bring in more well-known and established authors. »

The Alpharetta Library programs, all free to the public, begin August 16 with Rona Simmons and Jon Jordan, two well-known authors discussing their latest war story-focused books. On September 20, Carolyn Curry will be joined by her husband, former football coach Bill Curry, to discuss his new book, ‘Sudden Death’. Longtime former WSB news anchor John Pruitt will be the focus of the October 18 offering where he will discuss his debut book, “Tell It True.”

Plans for November are still being finalized; however, the schedule for December 13 is set. New York Times bestselling authors Patti Callahan Henry and Mary Kay Andrews will appear together. In addition to the many books each has written, they are also co-hosts of Friends and Fiction, a weekly Facebook and YouTube show featuring author interviews and fascinating discussions about publishing and writing.

All events at the Alpharetta Public Library will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. After that, book sales and signings will be coordinated by Bookmiser. For more information on all ANI events, visit Where An original idea | Facebook.
