The Strange New Worlds Novel ‘The High Country’ –

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds debuts on May 5 and her first tie-in novel was announced during Star Trek: Mission Chicago.

The first one Strange new worlds linked novel is titled The High Country, by author John Jackson Miller. It arrives November 8, 2022 from Gallery Books.

Here is the official synopsis:

When an experimental shuttle crashes, Captain Christopher Pike suspects a mechanical malfunction – only to find that the very principles Starfleet bases its technology on have simply stopped working. He and his crewmates are forced to abandon ship in a dangerous maneuver that scatters their group across the strangest new world they have ever encountered.

First Officer Una finds herself fighting to survive in a wilderness where danger lurks at every turn. Young cadet Nyota Uhura struggles in a volcanic wasteland where things are not what they seem. John Jackson Miller is the author of many Trek links, including last year’s Star Trek: Picard: Rogue Elementswhich won TrekMovie’s Best of 2021 award. Jackson announced the book at the Star Trek: Mission Chicago event and in a blog post, calling it “a doozy of an adventure.” Jackson Knows Captain Pike, Spock, and Number OneUna as 2019 Bond Writer Star Trek: Discovery: The Enterprise War which tells their story before appearing in the second season of Discovery.
